Growing at CPC

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and trainging in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
-2 Timothy 3:16-17

Spiritual formation of all believers is an important aspect of the CPC faith community.  We recognize that one of the best ways to grow spiritually is through the study of God's Word.  This can happen through many different means, including: bible studies (small and large), core groups, Bible and theology classes, lecture series, annual Spiritual Renewal weekends and discipleship groups.  CPC strives to offer as many Christian Education opportunities as possible, knowing that with each opportunity we grow and nurture our faith and draw closer to our Lord.

Below are some of the current group and class to help you start or continue on your journey of spiritual growth.

Core Classes

LifeKeys  "...allowing the Holy Spirit to help you find your place in God's work."  This is the last part of our vision statement and we believe it to be essential in our understanding of who we are as Christians!  When we discover how God created the perfect mix of personality, gifts, talents and experiences...then we can begin to understand our life's purpose!

LifeKeys is a phenominal class that helps us as Christians discover that purpose from God!  LifeKeys is a spiritually-based comprehensive program for discovering your

Bible & Theology Classes

Every term we offer at least one bible and/or theological class on Sunday mornings.  The topics and books of study vary, but at times there is intentional alignment with these classes and the current sermon series or fall Spiritual Renewal Weekend topics.  Recent previous classes have included a study on the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5-7), the Book of Acts, and Understanding Science and Theology.

For a list of current and upcoming classes or to register for a class, please check the ADULT ministry page.

Bible Studies

CPC leads and sponsors a variety of Bible studies both at the church and around Clark County.  Below is a list of the current studies with pertinant details:

G.I.F.T Bible Study  G.I.F.T. Columbia Lecture Series

Every fall CPC hosts a Columbia Lecture Series where we invite a renowned speaker to come and share with us a series of lessons aimed at deepening our biblical, theological and missional understandings.  Previous lecturers have included Dr. Jerry Sittser speaking on his book “Water from a Deep Well” and Dr. Louis Markos leading an amazing study on C.S. Lewis.

Through the history of the Church, the season of LENT (the forty days between Ash Wednesday and Easter) has been an important time of preparation, marked by spiritual discipline and study. Each year we invite a guest lecturer to host a series of Sunday evening lessons that will lead us in this Lenten journey.  As we approach the Lenten season, please check the ANNOUNCEMENTS page for information about the upcoming Lenten Lecture Series.

Each year host three weekend retreats: Men's Retreat, Women's Retreat, and Family Camp.  Each of these retreats provide an opportunity to recharge, reconnect and become refreshed in our spiritual journey.  The Men's & Women's Retreats are held in the spring, and Family Camp is held during Labor Day weekend.  Please visit the ANNOUNCEMENTS page for more information and registration options.
