tabgha loaves and fishes
The arts…have a place in the Christian life — they are not peripheral. For a Christian, redeemed by the work of Christ and living within the norms of Scripture and under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, the Lordship of Christ should include an interest in the arts. A Christian should use these arts to the glory of God — not just as tracts, but as things of beauty to the praise of God. An art work can be a doxology in itself.” –Dr. Francis Schaeffer, Art and the Bible
For centuries the Church was a hub for the arts in Western Civilization, but over the last few generations much of that influence has been lost.  Music and Art in the Church have always been joyful expressions to God, where those whom God has gifted creatively have returned to our Creator works of love and dedication.  Sadly in many churches today only elements of music remain as a venue of creative offering.  So how important is it that in a culture that has become even more adapt to the power of the visual that we should reopen the gates to the arts and allow a proper venue to those pieces that faithfully interpret our Christian Journey of Word, Theology and Practice.
Within the CPC community we have such people whom God has gifted creatively and who desire to share some of their art for the purpose of worship and drawing people to a closer interaction with our Creator.  Those pieces which have been displayed in the context of our church worship are pictured below and referenced with words from the artist on this page.  We believe that the inclusion of art into our regular cycle of worship further edifies our understanding of God, our expression of praise, and heightens our senses to the presence of God in the world around us.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL ART WORK ON THIS PAGE IS THE PROPERTY OF THE ORIGINAL ARTIST, including all rights & copyright and are simply displayed by permission to CPC.  Display of art on this section is reserved for members of CPC for the purpose of enriching our worship and devotional life.  All content and edits are under the discretion of the CPC staff.
