Young Adults

Young Adult Ministry

At Columbia Presbyterian Church, we recognize that our growth in faith doesn’t go on “pause” in between graduation from High School and college/entering the workforce and getting married or having children.  Rather than seeing young adulthood as an in between time, we see it is a vital time of energy, discovery, growth, and challenge.  During this unique time, our young adult ministry seeks to stand beside our young adults as they grow and mature in life and faith, recognizing that our community of faith needs to hear the lessons learned in this time, as well as provide support to our young adults.  Whether it is through our Beacon House Residential ministries, discussion groups (like our monthly Theology Pub), or group outings, we desire to connect young adults to Jesus, one another, and an intergenerational faith community.

Come join us for an event or contact our young adult leader, Jim McLaughlin, to find out more about our ministry or to just grab a cup of coffee.

Beacon House Ministry

Recognizing that skills are learned and our lives are meant to be lived in community, our Beacon House ministry is a residential ministry where young, adult men live together, learning both life and faith skills.  In exchange for modest rent, they are given mentoring, life coaching, and spiritual direction, while being asked not only to learn but practice what they are learning as they live together.  We have a variety of students in the house who range from recent graduates, college students, and those entering the workforce.

We are continually on the lookout for possible residents, so if you are interested please contact Jim McLaughlin, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
