Step 1

When you are forming a team, we encourage you to start with your immediate family unit. Singles or couples are encouraged to adopt a family for the day. If, on race day, you don’t have a team, show up anyway and we will find a place for you.

step2(click here for registration form)

Registration fee:
$5.00 per person ages 10 – 99 ($20 max for an immediate family),
$2.00 per child ages 3-9,
No charge for children under 3

step 3

Costumes are encouraged!

step4

Each team will need a vehicle and a camera or camera phone.

Gather in the upper parking lot at Columbia at 1:30pm on August 15th to check-in and receive your clue packet and passport. Your team will receive all clues and teams will determine the order in which they complete them. Vancouver area maps will be provided.

step 5

Each team will solve clues that will take them to various locations around Vancouver. But be ready... at each location teams will be asked to complete a challenge in order to move on! Challenges may be physical, mental or just plain wacky! Your passport must be stamped at each location by a Race Volunteer. Ingenuity is encouraged, therefore, use of cell phones, smart phones, computers, phone-a-friend, GPS devices, gas station attendants, etc. are all permitted!

step 6

Proceed to LeRoy Haagen Park on NE 136th Ave. by 4:30pm regardless of whether you’ve completed every clue. The Awards Ceremony will be held at 4:30pm. Prizes will be awarded in categories such as ingenuity, creativity, originality, and speed!

step 7

Bring a picnic dinner to enjoy at the park after the race. We will have coolers available at the race start and will transport them to the finish for your convenience.

Columbia’s Evening Worship Service will be held at Haagen Park at 5:00pm that evening. All are welcome even if they have not participated in the race.

The MAC RACK

Columbia Presbyterian Church has been an active presence in the Vancouver Heights neighborhood for over 50 years, responding to the call to “love your neighbor”. We are pleased to announce a new partnership with our neighbor, McLoughlin Middle School, and a program we are calling the MAC RACK. This program aims to provide students in need with dress code-compliant clothing and shoes. McLoughlin enforces a strict dress code that encourages equity among all students and a focus on learning rather than clothing. At this particular school, nearly 85% of the student population falls into the “in-need” demographic.
