Columbia Presbyterian Church
Men's Ministry

At Columbia Presbyterian Church, we encourage each person to enter into a life-changing and ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ.  The Adult Ministry Team comes alongside to nurture adults in that life journey, with the goal of maturity in Christ:  “We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.” (Colossians 1:28)

"The Heart of a Man"
All of us have believed lies about God. The most fundamental lie is often related to how God sees us and as a result, how we see ourselves. What if God were for you even in the times when you are not for him? What if the very things that you thought kept you from God turned out to be the places where we discover the reality of his love?
During our time together, we are going to explore…
  • what it means to be a man in a shifting world and transitional times
  • what it means to be human and how we get stuck on the road to authenticity
  • how our understanding of God impacts our own sense of identity
William Paul Young We are excited and privileged this year to have W. Paul Young as our men’s retreat speaker. Paul is well known as the author of The Shack, which has sold over 20 million copies worldwide since it was released in 2007. In 2017 The Shack was made into a movie and won a dove award for most inspirational film. Paul is also author of three other books: Crossroads, Lies we Believe about God, and Eve.
Paul is married to Kim and together they have 6 children and 8 grandchildren. Paul has experienced great and terrible difficulties in his life and in those difficulties he has also experienced profound grace, transformational healing, and joy. The center of his life is relationships – with Jesus and the Father and the Holy Spirit at the center of it all. For Paul, to live is to participate in an adventure of faith which can only be experienced inside one day’s worth of grace at a time. Listening to and learning from Paul this weekend will be a special treat that will be sure to have a big impact on your own journey, wherever you might be on that road.
