Columbia Presbyterian Church
Adult Faith Formation

At Columbia Presbyterian Church, we encourage each person to enter into a life-changing and ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ.  The Adult Ministry Team comes alongside to nurture adults in that life journey, with the goal of maturity in Christ:  “We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.” (Colossians 1:28)

The Marriage Course - Sunday Evenings

As of Friday, January 11, we have availability for 4 additional couples to join The Marriage Course. However, online registration is now closed.  Please contact Wendy Ovall, Registrar, at 971-263-7677, to register for this course.  We look forward to having you join us!

A strong marriage needs a strong couple unafraid to navigate life together.

The Marriage Course was developed in 1996 by Nicky and Sila Lee for couples looking for practical support to strengthen their relationship.

Over seven sessions, the course will help you to:
  • Understand each other’s needs
  • Communicate more effectively
  • Grow closer by learning methods to resolve conflict
  • Recover from the ways you may have hurt each other
  • Recognize how your upbringing affects your relationship
  • Develop greater sexual intimacy
  • Discover each other’s "love language" and much, much more....

Who Is It For?
This course is for couples who are in a married relationship and seeking to strengthen their relationship. Some couples take the course to invest in their relationship, others need more urgent help. Either way, the course offers a lifetime of practical ideas and tools to help keep your relationship strong.

The Marriage Course is based on Christian principles but designed for all couples with or without a church background.

What Can We Expect?
In The Marriage Course, you are seated at your own romantic table for two. Each session consists of a candle-lit dinner, coffee, tea, and dessert, a practical talk and a time for private discussion between you and your spouse.

Background music ensures that you can chat in complete privacy. You never share anything about your relationship with anyone other than your partner.

Tim's Bible Club

The New Year is here and you are invited to join Tim Mauer and friends as they read the Bible together in 2019.

Tim has made a new reading list this year.  As before, there will be an Old Testament and New Testament reading each day.  New this year will   include a Psalm every other day.  Also new is a reduced Old Testament reading list to lighten the amount to read each day.  Sundays are a day off to rest or get caught up.

Whether you’ve never read with us, or have joined every year, please join with us in 2019 to meet with God every day and get to know Him better through reading His Word.

Back by popular demand – the daily readings will be available on the CPC app!

If you are interested in joining the club, please sign up in the Gathering Area, or contact Tim Mauer   directly by phone (360-910-7048), or email   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Tim will add you to the list and provide you with all the information you will need.

And remember our motto -
“We don’t have any meetings or committees - we just read the Bible.”

Spiritual Renewal Conference

September 21-23, 2018
Jerry Sittser cropped compressed
This year we are privileged to welcome Jerry Sittser. Many of you will recognize Jerry as the author of the outstanding book, The Will of God as a Way of Life, which was featured as our sermon series in the fall of 2017.

Jerry is a professor of theology at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington and the author of many books, including the best-seller, A Grace Disguised: How the Soul Grows through Loss (about the death of his mother, wife, and his young daughter in a tragic car accident, and Jerry’s journey through loss to a new life) and, Water from a Deep Well. As a part of Whitworth’s Office of Church Engagement, Jerry also facilitates a course entitled, “The Third Way,” from which much of his content this weekend will be drawn.

Jerry has a unique ability to communicate deep and unashamed truth with great compassion and grace, through foundations of history, experience, and Scripture.

We are thrilled to have Jerry with us again this year!

This year we offer 2 registration options.
  • If you prefer to pay by cash or check simply download and complete pdfthis form and return it to the church office at 8715 St. Helens Avenue, Vancouver, WA  98664.
